our stories
Around this time 24 years ago I found myself pregnant with my first child. I was at the height of my career, in a relationship (or so I thought) and VERY alone. I was absolutely terrified. I had no family to turn to. And the “father” did his best to convince me to have an abortion. When that failed, he spent an entire night beating me and keeping me locked up so that I couldn’t get away. Had it not been for the very kind people at Pregnancy Resource, I don’t think I would have made it. My beautiful daughter just turned 23. Her brother just turned 18. Not only did they save my life, but the lives of my two amazing kids. My kids are truly the very best things that have ever happened to me.
I only have positive things to say of this place. My son is 3 and half now and we got the first ultrasound here. They were super supportive and gave helpful classes and offered other support. They even have clothes and other essentials for those that needed them. I have recommended this place to others over the years. I will continue to recommend the PRC as they are super welcoming and friendly.
I have gone here for both of my pregnancies. They’ve been so wonderful and helpful each time, going as far as to give me a free ultrasound which helped me to understand how far along I was. They gave me pamphlets and information about parenting, clothing, etc. While they DON’T offer abortion services (fine with me) they are so helpful and kind. I will ALWAYS recommend this place.
I had my first appointment at the Pregnancy Resource Center today. They have already provided me with so many resources and information that I need to be the best mom to my little girl. They also provided me with so many baby clothes already. My husband also had nothing but positive things to say about the PRC. I would highly recommend this center if you are pregnant and in need of/looking for resources.
Let me start off by saying this is a local not for profit organization. They exist solely to help the people of the area with a number of different things, abortion not being one of them. They are right next to the Planned Parenthood but are a completely different service and approach. They really care about the well being of the people and the future people that these people come in carrying. They do free pregnancy testing, free ultrasounds, a number of different things even counseling and birthing classes for free and all for people who are facing these circumstances that are extremely stressed out about them with a number of different worries. Sometimes they are worried about financially being able to support a child, other times it’s needing support because people are telling them to just do away with the baby and that they aren’t resourced or mature enough to carry one. I wish I had known about this organization and others like it so long ago! It is amazing what they do and they are such down to earth genuine people they will not judge you. They genuinely exist as an organization to HELP. It’s not just for women either it’s for men as well and they also have post abortion counseling which I’ve known people who have been super benefited by this specifically from the pregnancy resource center. Keep up the good work and thank you for what you are doing in the community!!!!
